As part of our continued commitment to working with the community, Northport is a member of both the Ruakaka Economic Development Group and Community Liaison Group (CLG). These groups ensure that Northport maintains a positive impact on the community and the environment.
Northport is also in close liaison with the Patuharakeke Te Iwi Trust Board and sponsors a scholarship each year.

Patuharakeke Te Iwi
Patuharakeke Te Iwi Trust Board Incorporated Society (PTB) represents Patuharakeke Hapū, Tangata Whenua o Te Rohe o Patuharakeke with regards to Resource Management issues.
Located on the south side of Te Rerenga Parāoa (Whangarei Harbour), their rohe stretches on the seaward side from a point at the north of Mangawhai Heads to the entrance of the Mangapai River just south of Whangārei.

CLG
CommunityLiaison Group
This group was setup as a condition of Northport's consents, the CLG was retained after construction as an important ongoing medium to the community. It comprises representatives from across the region.
