Shifting Ships At Berths
The shifting of ships at Northport berths may only be undertaken with permission from Northport who reserves the right to refuse any shift. No agent can refuse to undertake a reasonable request to shift a vessel by Northport or another agent.
Immobilisation
The Harbourmaster's permission is deemed to be granted if the actual and forecasted wind speed remains below 25 knots for the duration of the maintenance period.
Diving Operations
This form must be submitted for Northport's approval 24 hrs before any diving operations can commence at or from its site. Ensure all diving operations meet all central and local government legislation and guidelines.
Life Boat Drill
Ship's lifeboat drills at anchor or alongside may only be carried out with permission from Whangārei Harbour Radio, the Harbourmaster and Customs NZ, who reserve the right to refuse any drill.
Hot Work Application
Applications for hot work permits must be submitted at least 2 hours before commencement of work. An application for a hot work permit must be complete in all respects, failing which the application will be declined.
Hot Work Permit
The Master of every vessel on which any welding or flame-cutting operations are to take place must obtain a Hot Work Permit.
Hot Work Notice
A Hot Work Notice must be obtained prior to the commencement of any operation involving open flames or the production of heat or sparks on the Northport Facility. This includes, but is not limited to, Brazing, Cutting, Grinding, Soldering, Thawing and Welding.
Ship Bunkering
Form submitted by the ship's representative to port authorities detailing the vessels intent to receive fuel - including essential information such as the vessel's name, IMO number, estimated time of arrival and departure, and type and quantity of fuel required.
